About My
Platform

I selected Disability Awareness - Changing Perspectives as a platform due to my personal and professional experience with individuals with disabilities. Throughout the years, I have met an enormous amount of people who have disabilities, yet despite their circumstances they face each day with a “smile” and dispel all myths. Personally, I have assisted individuals with disabilities across all generational lines obtain suitable employment and enroll in college. Knowing that I have been a part of their process inspires me to continue to advocate on their behalf.

My goal is to utilize my platform and educate the public on the various types of disabilities, how to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities, and help develop resources beyond the local level. Many people are not cognizant of the various types of disabilities and are unaware that all are not always visible. I want to change that!
